I am Karla Badenhorst, a Counselling Psychologist in Pretoria East.
Karla Badenhorst is a HPCSA-registered Counselling Psychologist based in private practice in Garsfontein, Pretoria East. She provides therapy for individuals with a range of lifestyle and psychological concerns. She has a special interest in anxiety, chronic pain, adjustment difficulties, stress management and self-esteem.
Karla is passionate about helping people see their true potential and assisting them to find ways to live their lives in a balanced, meaningful way. Her therapeutic approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Karla believes that therapy should be a collaborative space in which the client's strengths and resources are utilised in order to facilitate meaningful change.
Karla also has a special interest in career counselling and in assisting learners of all ages with study techniques and stress management related to academic performance and exams.

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is a collaborative process between the client and psychologist that draws on the client's unique strengths and resources to assist in meaningful change.
Individual therapy is offered to adults and adolescents.

Couples Therapy
Couples / Marriage Counselling allows a space for couples to come together to identify and explore aspects that need improvement; to better communication skills; and to learn conflict resolution skills. Couples counselling is a non-judgemental space where both partners are able to share their thoughts and feelings.

Career Counselling
Career Counselling is a holistic process in which strengths, interests and personality traits are evaluated in order to assist an individual to make an informed career decision.
This process can be valuable for Grade 11's and Grade 12's, but also for adults who wish to explore alternative career options.

Subject Choices
Subject Choice Counselling takes place when a learner is in Grade 9 and takes strengths, interests and personal goals into account in order to guide the decision-making process of selecting appropriate subjects for Grade 10.

Study Methods
Study methods guidance explores appropriate learning styles, study techniques, motivation and goal setting for children and adolescents.
